A former Church of England parish priest has claimed that “the Church is in denial” when discussing the asylum decision regarding conversion to Christianity.
The Revd Matthew Firth, who was a Church of England priest in Darlington, said he had become suspicious of the motivations of asylum seekers when a fixer would arrive at his church every few weeks, with different groups looking to convert. A former Church of England vicar claimed “six or seven” asylum seekers at a time regularly showed up at his church to convert to Christianity.
The priest became a whistleblower, gave evidence to the House of Commons Home Affairs Committee and then spoke to GB News journalist Charlie Peters.
