Mumbai-based entertainer and composer Loka, born Abhinay Lok Bista, recently revealed that he was unknowingly baptized and converted to Christianity in hostels and convent schools during his childhood. The rapper made the shocking revelation on the Untriggered podcast with Aminjaz.
Speaking about his childhood, Loka explained how he was baptized and almost converted to Christianity, without his mother coming to his rescue. “I was in a Xavier hostel. They baptized me and almost converted me to Christianity. When my mother heard about these shenanigans, she came to take me out the same day,” says Loka.

When asked if he converted consciously and of his own will, Loka replied: “No, they don’t ask permission or tell you openly that they are converting you to Christianity. This happens subtly. By the time my mother found out, I had already celebrated 3 Christmases and became the Rosery boy.
He then added that evangelism is rampant in schools and homes, where missionaries employ subtle and stealthy means to convert students to Christianity. Here is the entire podcast:-
Many consider Loka to be a prominent figure among Mumbai’s influential hip-hop artists. The young emcee has played a significant role in creating impactful rap records including the EP “Autobiography,” the “Kya Bolte Bro” collaboration with Emiway Bantai, “Mafia,” and more. In March this year, Loka’s management released “Burey Din” while the rapper was on trial and detained in prison.
