German Ambassador to India Philipp Ackermann appreciated the large number of Indians celebrating the Christmas festival with such joy and enthusiasm.
Speaking to X (formerly Twitter), he said that Christmas is not a festival just for Christians and in India a large number of non-Christians celebrate it. “Merry Christmas and frohe Weihnachten,” Ackermann posted on X (formerly Twitter).

In a video message, the German envoy said: “Christmas is not just for Christians. When you are in India, you realize how many people celebrate Christmas who are not Christians. It’s something I really appreciate.”
“The way Indians welcome this celebration and this day of peace and joy is wonderful. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Frohe Weihnachten,” he added.

Delhi’s Khan Market is full of stalls selling Santa hats, trees, reindeer, wreaths, candles and other decorative items.
Meanwhile, churches, educational institutions and private buildings in the national capital are all adorned with festive lights and decorations in the run-up to Christmas.
The city’s bakeries are working overtime as pastry shops see increased traffic as the festivities approach.
