The viral vicar who uses TikTok to connect with a younger congregation has been invited to a meeting with MPs from TikTok Christian creatives.
THE Vicar of TikTokreal name David Sims, was invited by TikTok to discuss the impact of Christianity on the platform.
The panel discussion took place next to Parliament and was attended by other well-known Christian content creators.
Mr Sims told BBC Radio WM TikTok that he had helped grow his congregation at St Thomas Church in Aldridge, Walsall.
Mr Sims said the event was a success and many MPs enjoyed what they were doing.
He said: “All MPs have been very supportive of what TikTok can do, both for the Christian faith and for the community. »
He mentioned how TikTok and social media often have a “bad reputation,” but it’s possible to find “glimpses of goodness.”
“We’ve seen people join our church through TikTok, which is great, and a lot of older people are supporting (our cause) through prayer and donating Bibles.”
Offering prayers on TikTok is another tool used by the vicar. He said he often receives hundreds of prayer requests and ensures those requests are met.
