In late February 2023, Snopes received reader inquiries regarding an alleged post on X (formerly Twitter) written by U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga. According to the image, Greene – who is a fervent believer of Christianity – shared a flyer titled “Christians Against Satellites” and wrote: “ATHISTS are using SATELLITES to intercept prayer to JESUS and make them EVEL (sic)!!!”
The flyer in the alleged message – which users on X And Tic Tac also shared – read as follows:

The negative impact of artificial satellites and space debris orbiting the Earth:
Satellites interfere with our ability to communicate effectively with God. Prayers often collide with satellites and are deflected or destroyed upon impact.
Satan uses satellites to intercept and modify prayers before they reach God, leading to disastrous consequences.
Satellites block God’s ability to observe us.
The satellites interfere with the flight paths of the angels.
The continued proliferation of satellites causes navigation problems for Jesus and further delays his return to Earth.
However, this was not something Greene shared. The image purporting to show the message of her was fake.
It was unclear who digitally constructed the image to make it appear that Greene was the author of such an article. The words claiming that atheists “use satellites to intercept prayer” appear to be taken verbatim from Pastor Alex Love’s X account (@PastorAlexLove) – who shared the same statement, as well as the flyer, on December 10, 2023and again on March 1, 2024.

Several users and at least one report of the LGBTQ nation claims Pastor Alex Love’s account posts satire and parody. We reached out to the X account to confirm this description of his release and ask questions about Greene’s fake post. We will update this report if we receive a response.
This wasn’t the first time Greene did or said something and Snopes checked to see if it actually happened. For example, social media posts claimed that she once said that “Jewish space lasers” could have started wildfires in California in 2018. We looked into this claim. here.
