Eric Metaxas Urges Christians to “Speak Out” Against Evil in New Documentary
By a Movieguide® contributor
Author and radio host Eric Metaxas encourages Christians to stand strong in their faith against cultural evil through his new documentary LETTER TO THE AMERICAN CHURCH.
“It is up to believers to defend what is just, good and true, and to bring our faith into the public square; not to be afraid of politics – to get involved in politics – because that is one of the ways that God has given us to make changes,” he said. said The Christian Post. “And I think a lot of people are more afraid of being loved.” They think that being a Christian means, “I don’t argue with people; I’m attractive all the time. And sometimes you have to fight.
Metaxas stressed that “evil is real,” adding: “If you, as a Christian, do not participate alongside those who oppose it, the Lord will allow evil to continue to grow, and what we have seen is only the beginning. . It will come for absolutely everyone. And that’s the warning.
“You think this is going to happen to other people,” he continued. “That’s never the case. It happens to them first. If you don’t do something, it will eventually impact you and your family, and I believe we are commanded to love our neighbors. If you love your neighbors, you won’t let this continue.
Metaxas is currently promoting his latest book and accompanying documentary, both titled LETTER TO THE AMERICAN CHURCH.
A description of the book bed, “Is it really God’s will for his children to remain silent at a time like this? Denouncing the cowardice that masquerades as divine gentleness, Eric Metaxas calls the Church into battle. Silence is not an option. God calls us to defend the unborn, to confront the lies of cultural Marxism, and to fight the globalist tyranny that crushes human freedom. Convinced that this is Her fight, the Church must overcome fear and enter the fray, armed with the spiritual weapons of prayer, self-sacrifice and love.
The documentary features Metaxas, as well as Charlie Kirk, Dr. James Lindsay, Pastor Rob McCoy, Seth Gruber, Pastor David Engelhardt, Victor Marx, Eileen Marx and Pastor John K. Amanchukwu Sr.
“The LETTER TO THE AMERICAN CHURCH exposes the parallels between Nazi Germany of the early 1930s and other totalitarian regimes, including Mao, Stalin, and what is happening in America today and how the Church has remained silent in the face of this evil”, Yahoo. reported. “Because of America’s influence, the Church has received a call to defend those who have no voice and to denounce the powers that silence the call for freedom. The film argues that the Church’s decision to stay out of politics undermines the very message of the Gospel and its power to transform all spheres of human existence. »
Previously Movieguide® reported on Metaxas:
Author Eric Metaxas recently shared his testimony with Kirk Cameron on the latest episode of TAKEAWAYS.
Metaxas, who speaks openly about his Christian faith and conservative values, recalled his humble childhood and painful journey to faith.
Although he grew up around Greek Orthodoxy and his parents’ testimony of faith, Metaxas said he did not have a personal relationship with Christ…
“At this time in my life, not only did I suffer from depression, but my situation was real agony,” he recalls. “I was in so much pain that I met a guy who started sharing his faith with me. His name is Ed Tuttle. He made friends with me, he shares Jesus with me and I had this attitude like, “Don’t get too close to that weird stuff, you guys are weird, I don’t want to become one of you, be part of the sect…”
“He gave me a sign,” he remembers. “It was a dream. It was around my 25th birthday. I had a dream and in the dream I was fishing on Candlewood Lake in Danbury, Connecticut, where I had fished several times…”
“I know in the dream that Jesus gives me this gift of himself and of knowledge and that he speaks a language that only makes sense to me,” he added. “In the dream, I was filled with joy. It’s real, it’s true, Jesus is real. I was absolutely changed instantly and the next day I went to work and told my friend Ed Tuttle about my dream. I said words to him that I would never have said before, I said that I accepted Jesus.
