The “Fast X” star then explained how he is often criticized for being a Christian who plays such a complex character.
“So-called Christians especially criticize me for playing Reacher,” Ritchson said. “As if the only television that should exist is watching people silently fold their hands in church pews.”
He added: “I mean, what kind of stories are we supposed to tell? »

Ritchson pointed out the many complex stories told in the Bible – journeys filled with characters who are anything but perfect.
In the Old and New Testaments, the actor said one can easily see “a thousand years of an infinitely holy God in tension with human beings as he tells the story of who he is, reveals who he is through an imperfect people.”
And Ritchson wasn’t done there.
He added that the Bible is filled with “miracles and magic,” with the Lord completely unafraid to “tell the story of who He is through less than morally ambiguous characters, through pure evil sometimes.” .
Ultimately, he said it was “laughable” to criticize him for not playing only saintly characters.
Rather than dismissing “Reacher” as inappropriate, Richson said Christians could even use the series to start spiritual conversations. And, when it comes to the actor’s journey, he said his platform allows him to help spark these discussions with fans and followers.
Toward the end of the video, Ritchson read the first two verses of Genesis to recall God’s creation and connect the Lord’s purpose to His love for humanity. The actor encouraged people, rather than being distracted, to seek God.
Like CBN News Previously reported, Ritchson also has a passion for religious films and stars in “Ordinary Angels,” a film that will be released next month. A summary bed“Inspired by the incredible true story of a hairdresser who single-handedly rallies an entire community to help a widowed father save the life of his seriously ill young daughter.”
The actor said he enjoys telling such uplifting stories. In a meeting with Christian Headlines he also expressed his beliefs about the true nature of many heroes.
“God continually appears in our world in ways that leave us perplexed,” Ritchson said. “Because we – for whatever reason – I think we continue to buy into the idea that…God chooses heroes to do His work. And that has never been the case. It is in broken and dysfunctional situations that God proves His power and strength. And it’s also a story of that.
